Valamar has developed a comprehensive Sustainability Strategy to reach ESG goals until 2025 and position Valamar as a leader of sustainability among European hospitality companies. The ESG strategy involves the entire Valamar's value chain from suppliers, employees and operations, to guests and destinations.  

Valamar is committed to the sustainable use of natural resources and to making a positive impact on the destinations and society in which it operates. As a leading tourism company in Croatia, Valamar invests in various sustainability and social responsibility programs such as investments in renewable energy sources, energy efficiency, tourism infrastructure, numerous programs for employees, as well as social and philanthropic programs. Since 2015 Valamar reduced its carbon footprint by 70%, uses 100% of electricity from renewable sources, produces 6% of total electricity through solar power plants. In Valamar, 78% of food and drinks are locally produced, and 100% of the facilities are certified with ISO 14001 and ISO 50001.  

On numerous occasions, Valamar has received national and international recognition for its commitment to sustainability. It has been awarded as the Top Employer in Tourism and it ranks 9th on the list of the most desirable Croatian companies. The company also won the Green Prix in the category "Decarbonizing Society" for the production of solar energy in cooperation with E.ON, and was also included in the Financial Times list of the European climate leaders. Valamar also holds numerous sustainability certificates such as ISO 14001 - Environmental Management System, ISO 50001 - Energy Management System, ISO 45001 - Health and Safety Management System, Travelife, Blue Flag, EU Ecolabel and HACCP.
