VERALDA P.o.

Description

Vinarija Veralda is a Croatian winery located in the most famous wine-growing area of northern Istria, on the famous Buja hills that stretch between Buja and Brtonigla. It is one of the largest wineries in Istria, with 33 hectares of vineyards and 5 hectares of olive orchards, which produce premium, grand cru wines and some of the best quality olive oils in this area. The vineyards are cultivated and nurtured in an ecological way in order to preserve the environment from pollution and maintain greater biological diversity. The production of wine exclusively from its own grapes enables the winery to continuously monitor, prevent diseases, quickly process and preserve quality.

The winery is proud to have produced the best red wine in the world, supported by the only and most prestigious wine award in Croatia, the "Platinum Best in Show" award, which it received in London in 2016. With this recognition, the Teran variety and the Istrian region are placed at the very top world wine scene. Veralda is the initiator of innovations in the development of autochthonous varieties, which, among other things, was proven by the sensational discovery of the first Teran rose, which soon became a style in the production of Istrian Rose, as well as sparkling wine, giving Teran elegance and a completely new dimension in pairing in the oenological and gastronomic sense . The winery is focused on autochthonous varieties:

Istrian Malvazija, Refosco and Teran, expressing the uniqueness, nobility and tradition of the geographical area. The goal of the winery is to develop autochthonous varieties through organic production and innovative approaches.

The top quality of Veralda wine has been confirmed by a number of international medals and recognitions. The winery is known for the prestigious title for single-varietal red wine of the Teran variety, rated with a high 95 points, winning the title "Best in show" in 2016 at the most prestigious Decanter wine competition in London, which represents today's best-rated Croatian wine and the highest-ranked award in Croatian winemaking history .
