Aquarium Pula - Ambassadors of the sea

Pula-Pola

Aquarium Pula is the largest aquarium in Croatia, located in a 130-year-old Austro-Hungarian fortification, where a unique combination of natural and cultural heritage has been highlighted for more than 20 years. The aquarium offers an unforgettable experience of displaying one of the most diverse displays of Mediterranean life in Europe, together with tropical displays that together cover an area of more than 3,000 m2.

Aquarium Pula is privately owned and has been operating since the year 2000, and has grown from a small family business into a company that today employs around 30 employees. Today, it is recognized as an indispensable educational, scientific and cultural center that is at the very top of the list of tourist attractions in the city of Pula. Aquarium Pula has been recognized by the World Sustainability Organization (WSO), thanks to numerous conservation activities, but also by the Croatian Government, which recognized the aquarium for the preservation of sea turtles and noble pen shells (Pinna nobilis). In addition to its unique content, the aquarium takes you on a journey through diverse marine areas of the Adriatic and Mediterranean, which you can experience in a unique location, as well as tropical and northern seas and freshwater habitats, both European and exotic.

By purchasing an aquarium ticket, every visitor contributes to the revitalization of cultural heritage and the protection of the Adriatic's biodiversity, supports our conservation activities such as the rehabilitation of sea turtles and the rescue of critically endangered precious periwinkles from extinction, and encourages the sustainable business that we have been conducting for many years. The aquarium is only 3 km from the city center, and it can be easily reached by public transport (lines 2A and 3A), which is recommended due to the limited number of parking spaces. It is open throughout the year.
